ASU – a nearly three-year-old Lego builder is battling an illness. Not long ago, little ASU was a healthy, energetic, cheerful child who loved drawing, putting together puzzles, and arranging Lego blocks. A few months ago, the family’s life fell apart.. No one expected that a huge tumor was growing in the girl’s body and that she would have to fight such a dangerous opponent as an atypical tumor. At first, neuroblastoma was suspected, and then ependymoma – which is also a very aggressive tumor. Unfortunately, the first diagnoses turned out to be wrong, at the moment teratoid/rhabdoid is suspected, however the girl’s parents are still waiting for confirmation of the diagnosis, which did not come with the last biopsy results. A large and aggressive tumor grows in Asu’s body, located along the spine – close to the nerves.

At the moment, despite six cycles of chemotherapy, there is no improvement, and the tumor still cannot be removed. The girl’s test results were sent to Canada to be consulted with doctors there. As of today, we are still waiting for a response. At the moment, further cycles of chemotherapy and 32 cycles of radiation have been planned. Asu is being treated in a country that is foreign to her – Turkey, and the costs of treatment have long exceeded the financial possibilities of the entire family. Every day is a huge uncertainty for them and fear of what will come tomorrow. Without your help, the girl cannot continue her treatment. The family cannot afford further tests that could help our daughter.

Jeszcze niedawno mała ASU była zdrowym, energicznym wesołym dzieckiem, które uwielbia rysować, układać puzzle i układać klocki lego. Kilka miesięcy temu życie rodziny legło w gruzach. Nikt nie przypuszczał, że w ciele dziewczynki rośnie ogromny guz i, że dziewczynce przyjdzie stanąć do walki z tak groźnym przeciwnikiem jakim jest atypowy nowotwór. Niestety, pierwsze diagnozy okazały się nietrafione, w obecnym momencie podejrzewany jest teratoidny/rabdoidny, jednak rodzice dziewczynki wciąż czekają na potwierdzenie diagnozy, która nie przyszła wraz z ostatnimi wynikami biopsji. W ciele Asu rośnie duży i agresywny guz, umiejscowiony wzdłuż kręgosłupa- blisko nerwów. Na chwilę obecną pomimo sześciu cykli chemioterapii, nie widać poprawy, a guza wciąż nie można usunąć.

Wyniki badań dziewczynki zostały wysłane zostały do Kanady, aby skonsultować je z tamtejszymi lekarzami. Na dzień dzisiejszy
nadal czekamy na odpowiedź. Na chwilę obecną zaplanowane zostały kolejne cykle chemioterapii oraz 32 cykle naświetlania. Asu leczona jest w obcym dla siebie kraju- w Turcji, a koszty leczenia już dawno przerosły możliwości finansowej całej rodziny. Każdy dzień to dla nich ogromna niepewność oraz strach przed tym, co nadejdzie jutro. Bez Waszej pomocy dziewczynka nie jest w stanie kontynuować leczenia. Rodziny nie stać na kolejne badania, które mogłyby pomóc naszej córeczce.
